Mathilde knew that she wanted to be a consultant when she joined Columbus. She loves interacting with customers and this role allowed her to understand their expectations and of course, her personal development.
"The Young Professionals Programme has been an invaluable experience for me, and it has given me the chance to network, cross-collaborate, and build lasting relationships with peers from different teams and backgrounds," says Mathilde.
A little more than a year later, in November 2022, Mathilde moved to a new team called Columbus Global Security and Access Management in our Dynamics business line. "It has been an exciting transition," she says. "This has allowed me to become an expert in a specific area. I can deep dive and get the knowledge within my area of work." Mathilde's experience highlights the importance of staying agile and informed in today's fast-paced business world.
Mathilde continues, "The customers expect us to proactively engage with them. Their goal is to stay ahead of the competition and as a digital advisor, customers expect me to be aware of the latest trends and how the industry is changing to make informed decisions that will benefit their business."

Mathilde loves working at Columbus because it gives her a lot of flexibility to change paths. If she wants to work in Retail and Integration again in the future, it is possible. She likes being a consultant at Columbus because she is not locked in a box, and if she wants to improve or change paths, she has many possibilities to explore.

Mathilde's biggest learning at Columbus has been how to be both professional and relatable. Customers not only need someone they can trust in terms of expertise and knowledge but also someone they can relate to as an individual. It is essential to balance professionalism and other areas such as empathy.
She has also come to recognize the importance of creating a strong first impression. Having the knowledge and skill is important, but customers must feel connected to trust her decisions and opinions. Ultimately, being at Columbus taught her how to blend the two sides together to ensure long-lasting, trusting relationships.
Professionally, Mathilde's learning curve has been steep. There have been countless learnings. Early on, there were lots of new areas, and now it is more focused. There are constant discussions about how to upskill and keep up with industry requirements. Furthermore, her manager and other leaders always recommend that they develop and give them the time and tools to do so.
"I see Columbus as a land of opportunities. The customer interactions, global peers, and the opportunities to learn new skills and tools have added to my learnings both personally and professionally," says Mathilde.
