Columbus, a leading service provider of digital business solutions globally, is celebrating its 30th anniversary.

Ballerup, 1 May 2019: Today, Columbus can celebrate 30 years of growth, innovation, and progress. Columbus was founded in 1989, the same year as the World Wide Web was invented, and as the IT industry took off with exorbitant growth rates.

Since its start in 1989 Columbus has grown from an 8-people Danish entrepreneur company into a global IT service and consultancy with more than 2,000 highly skilled employees, thus keeping its steady momentum to become our customers’ preferred service provider of digital business solutions.

Since 2011, Columbus has been led by CEO Thomas Honoré who has grown the business continuously from revenue of DKK 881m and close to 900 employees to a 2,000 people business with a revenue of DKK 1.9m. (financial year 2018) in 2019.

“Celebrating 30 years of growth and progress in an industry as ours is quite an accomplishment, and I am really proud to lead a team of 2,000 highly skilled and committed people who strive to deliver the best solutions and services to our customers every single day. Our progress during the past 30 years is all due to the trust of our customers and the commitment from our employees”, says Thomas Honoré, CEO in Columbus.

Having grown to a 2000+ team in 17 countries, the business’s success has been built on people, trust, knowledge, professionalism, competences, passion and a commitment to help our customers transform, maximise and futureproof their business digitally.

Since its foundation in 1989, Columbus’ core business and leading marketing position have been based on deep ERP services and competences within the retail, manufacturing and food industries. During the recent years, Columbus has expanded its deep ERP competence with a broader range of services and solutions, that address companies’ growing demand to have fewer, but more strategic business partners to assist in the strategic development of digitalisation.

In 2018, Columbus launched the 9 Doors to Digital Leadership® which is an end-to-end service and solution portfolio that addresses the customers’ entire demands ranging from analytics, customer experience solutions to application and infrastructure management. With the 9 Doors to Digital Leadership® Columbus offers a lifetime partnership that helps companies reach their goals for a sustainable and growing business.

“With the 9 Doors to Digital Leadership®, the superior skills, and experience of our people and our strong market momentum I am convinced that the next 30 years will foster many opportunities for our customers, our employees, and Columbus”, says Thomas Honoré.
